VICKY HATHWAY                  About             Work          Contact

Vicky Hathway is a British feminist Illustrator based in Cornwall / London.
She is undertaking a BA in Illustration / Animation at Kingston school of Art ( to be completed in 2026) and is currently taking a year out from her studies to further explore her practice in silversmithing.

Hathway explores the spiritual connection of the body to the world through the guise of her own fantastical translation. In her conception the divine feminine, in all her forms, underpin Hathway’s oeuvre morphing from doubled tailed mermaids to breasted trees. Her colour is pure and bright, working with complementaries to inflate the boundaries of colour. Her marks are raw and rugged like etching into reality a hazed dream, herself just the medium for her conceived worlds. Hathway draws upon Folklore traditions and mythology to insert her own modern renditions.
Her roots of native Celtic Cornwall have instilled a connection with the land and prehistoric heritage. Body connected with land, land as one harmonious unit.
